Adobe Hidden Treasures.

Key Disciplines:  Typography
Project Status: Live Concept
Collaborators: Me again.

Snapshot:

Lost typography from the Bauhaus masters.
After almost 100 years, original typography sketches and unpublished letter fragments from the legendary Bauhaus school of design were rediscovered. Five beautiful alphabets have been meticulously completed and digitized by an international team guided by renowned type designer Erik Spiekermann.

In collaboration with the release of Adobe Hidden Treasures Typefaces,
The Challenge was to bring these designs to life by using them in an active piece of design work. The original brief called for the design of a; logo, poster and business card but instead I wanted these to serve as window’s into a typographic environment where these typefaces lived and interacted with each other re-imagining the typical form of type specimens released from foundries.

The Solution:

I crafted a logotype and Identity for the Typography Research foundry at Adobe responsible for putting together these Hidden Treasures.
What resulted was a playful and holistic set of branded elements using the geometric ‘Joschmi’ as the base and hero for the design, the resulting environment takes inspiration from the typographic forms and has been inspired by the iconic Bauhaus Dessau school of design principles as well as the letter-forms them-self.
